ABOUT US
My husband and I have spent the past 5 years trying to conceive, finally pursuing fertility treatments the past 2 years. In that time I've had 6 confirmed pregnancies, the longest of which was identical twins, lost last Christmas. My heart forever breaks at the thought of never knowing the joy of raising an infant to adulthood and beyond. I've always taken tremendous care of my health, avoiding all drugs, cigarettes, alcohol, pharmaceuticals, and processed foods, as does my husband. I hope to find birth parents who share our values of leading a healthy lifestyle.
I have spent my entire life preparing for motherhood. My first job was as a child care assistant at a summer school, when I was 9. Although I have advanced degrees related to lasers and film, I have periodically spent my free time as a nanny, after school care supervisor, and art instructor to children 6 months to 9 years. I find children always seem to intensely adore me for my warm and playful nature.
I am tremendously creative and hail from a highly creative family. I enjoy singing, composing and recording music, improvising comedy, puppetry, filmmaking, illustration, animation, photography, writing short stories, inventing, dancing... I delight in the outdoors, travel, swimming, sailing, hiking... My parents were always tremendously dynamic people, involving me in all their great adventures. I so look forward to the opportunity to share my knowledge, exposing a child to all the wonders the world has to offer. I cherish the extraordinary sacrifice the birth parents are making and would be honored to cooperate in raising the child with whatever level of contact they are comfortable with, and in a manner that is respectful of their beliefs. While I was not raised in a religious setting, I have independently attended church from time to time, read the bible, and I share these strong values and moral principles, which I feel are their message. Steadfast loyalty, honesty, forgiveness, compassion, humbleness, generosity... these are a few of the qualities I hold most dear and hope to impart to a child one day.
I have spent a great deal of time studying the benefits of an open adoption, and I want the birth parents to know that they are welcome and valued. I know that any love and emotional support a child can receive will be of tremendous benefit in building a sense of confidence and security for a happy and successful life. I myself feel I could never have too many friends or family.
I lost my eldest sister 10 years ago, so there is certainly room in my heart for this child and the birth parents, should they wish to maintain a connection.
